Developer St Modwen wants to sell the club site for housing and rebuild it on the green belt land designated a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation.
An application for planning permission has not been submitted but residents started a petition against development on the green wedge and drafted a letter to Mr Cameron.
It says: "As local people living in a built up area the small amount of open green space we have is precious to us. Once lost to development it will be lost forever altering the distinctive local character of our area for the worse."
Friends spokeswoman Sue Yeadon, said: "We sent a letter to David Cameron because we saw the Conservative manifesto supporting the protection of the green belt." Halesowen North Councillor Jeffrey Hill said: "All the three ward councillors are opposed to the sports club moving onto the green wedge." St Modwen wil use sale cash to build a pavilion, clubhouse, cricket pitch and bowling green.
